Why did we choose it?
It is a typical Cabernet franc of the Loire, a large but little known wine making region. Gérald Vallée, its owner, works in his vineyards but also during the vinification. It is an ideal wine to understand the cabernets francs from the Loire and continue our journey across the different productions of the world.
The domain:
The Vallée family has her roots in the wine making lands of Saint Nicolas de Bourgueil since several centuries. This family passes the Domaine de la Cotelleraie from one generation to the next. Across 26 hectares, the vineyards occupy every level of the landscape: the gravels of the terrace, the siliceous limestones of the low hill and the clay gravel hills of the Loire Valley.
The domain has an organic certification. Gérald Vallée works the ground with respect for the nature so as to get the best of the grapes, thus making a name for himself in the appellation Saint Nicolas de Bourgueil.
